UKU shopping centre in Viljandi expanded to 10,000 square meters with its recent extension

The UKU shopping centre in Viljandi belonging to the EfTEN real estate fund opened its fourth and last extension. The newest extension provides 970 square meters of additional rental space making UKU now the largest shopping centre in Viljandi with its total of 10,000 square meters.

The anchor tenant of the centre’s fourth and last, nearly one thousand square meter extension is the well-known sports and leisure store Sportland. In addition, pet store KIKA, toy store Karupoeg Puhh    and the renowned confectioner Pihlaka café will open their stores in the newly completed part of the centre. A total of 50 shops, cafés and other service providers operate in the centre.

According to Toomas Õun, manager of Estonian shopping centres of EfTEN, the fourth extension will be the last one for the centre. “The UKU shopping centre is well established and appreciated by both locals and people from the wider region. Thus the need to expand the centre several times over the past years. However with the latest expansion, the centre now has sufficient space to offer all necessary and good quality services and retail people of Viljandi and its surrounding area need,” said Õun.

The extension of the centre was built by the construction company Evicon Ehitus OÜ, the construction was supervised by Inseneribüroo Telora OÜ and the owner supervision was carried out by Paasik OÜ.
